Western Video Market Hires Eddie Veenendaal as Chief Executive Officer
Western Video Market (WVM) and its Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Eddie Veenendaal, a native of California, has been hired as Chief Executive Officer to help guide the company’s continued growth in the livestock marketing industry.
“Western Video Market has undergone significant reorganization in the last two years to better serve our customers and to create a long-term road map to be the premier marketing outlet for livestock producers nationwide,” said Jake Parnell, President and Chairman of the Board. “As we continue to evolve, it was important to add innovative leadership to support this growth. Eddie brings past business experience that will be beneficial to supporting our company mission.”
Veenendaal was most recently employed as President and CEO of Mar Vista Resources, a fertilizer manufacturer and supplier. Previous to that, he was employed by California Dairies, Inc. for seventeen years, steadily working his way up in the company to Director of Supply and Logistics.
“I’m excited to bring my past business experience to the livestock marketing sector,” said Veenendaal. “I grew up in the dairy industry, and currently run a small herd of Angus cattle, so this opportunity with Western Video Market gives me the ability to combine a lifelong personal interest with my professional background. Western Video Market has assembled a team that embodies passion and drive, and I’m looking forward to helping them grow their company.”
Veenendaal is a graduate of U.C. Davis, and resides in Kingsburg along with his wife Jessica and four daughters.
Michelle Birt, long-time Accountant and Controller for Western Video Market has announced her retirement, but will be continuing in a consulting role. Liliana Trejo has been promoted to Controller to take over accounting responsibilities. Holly Foster will continue as Chief Operations Officer.
“We have a really talented and dedicated staff in place,” added Parnell. “Adding another member to the team will only help us grow and better serve the needs of our consignors, buyers and field representatives.”
The company will be kicking off the spring marketing season with its next video auction on April 10 that will be broadcast live from Harris Ranch Resort in Coalinga, CA. For more information, visit www.wvmcattle.com.
