Leann was instrumental in creating the first USDA Quality Systems Assessment Program that allowed the United States to resume beef export sales after the first case of BSE was identified in December 2003. Source and age verification became the foundational program to meet basic export requirements, and was recognized under USDA’s Process Verified Program Standard. This third-party system allowed packers to buy cattle that met specific requirements without auditing each individual supplier location and revolutionized the way cattle are marketed for verified and value-added programs. Today, IMI Global verifies cattle for a number of programs, standards and claims including, source, traceability, age, Non-Hormone Treated Cattle (NHTC), Verified Natural Beef, WFCF CARE and more. They also provide an infrastructure that authenticates the claims being made on packages at retail.

As part of Western Video Market’s value-added partnership with Purina, qualifying consignments will be highlighted in our catalog and during our sale broadcasts. To qualify:

1. Calves must be born from cows fed Wind and Rain® mineral on a year-round program prior to breeding and through weaning.
2. Calves must be fed a Wind and Rain® mineral, RangeLand® Pro mineral, or a Purina ®Stress Tub product through sale delivery date

OR

Stockers can be fed any combination of Purina® Stress Tub, RangeLand® Pro mineral, and Wind and Rain® tub or bagged mineral product for a minimum of 60 days prior to sale delivery date.
