Title: Finance Manager
Reports To: Operations Manager and President
Summary
Western Video Market, Inc. is offering a unique opportunity to a self-motivated individual with managerial accounting experience. This position will direct and implement accounting-related practices for the company. The position is responsible for providing financial analysis to management and the executive committee to guide company growth decisions and maximize profit opportunities, while controlling costs. The finance manager will be an important member of the management team and will approach his or her job duties with a sense of ownership to help optimize the long-term goals of the company.

Western Video Market, Inc. is the second-largest livestock video auction company in the United States, and markets more than 350,000 head of commercial cattle and lambs per year to a national buyer base. Founded in 1989, the company hosts auction sales featuring livestock consignments from throughout the western United States.

Duties and Expectations
This is a management team level position. This person will collaborate with existing management to improve efficiencies and provide financial reporting to help make strategic decisions.
- Manage accounts receivables and provide weekly reporting to Operations Manager and Executive Committee.
- Oversee billing staff daily duties in collaboration with Operations Manager
- Manage banking and line of credit, and provide regular reporting to Operations Manager and Executive Committee.
- General business accounting duties, including serving as a liaison with company accountant.
- Monitor and prepare for critical tax filing dates
- Oversee staff in balancing and reconciliation procedures and provide regular reporting to Operations Manager and Executive Committee
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Five or more years of accounting experience and demonstrated background in finance.
- Individual pursuing this position must understand the importance of being a team player in a tight-knit office environment and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of honesty and integrity, with good problem-solving skills to address a dynamic business environment
- Proficient in accounting software and business accounting principles.
- Applicant should be proficient in basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).
- Livestock and/or agricultural background a plus, but not required. Experience in other industries may transfer, especially if the candidate has experience in commission-based auction operations.
Compensation
This position offers a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. A successful candidate will be offered paid Federal holidays, as well as health, retirement and vacation package. Relocation assistance may be negotiable.
Supervisor
This position reports to the Operations Manager and President, and will receive direction and training from the current Controller who will be fully retired by March 1, 2025. This position is based out of the company’s Cottonwood office, and does not allow for telecommuting.
